The Becoming Mother
Somatic Coaching for postpartum
You gave birth. Now something else is a new beginning. A becoming process that is deeper than the baby.
Matrescence: the identity shift of becoming a mother, is one of the most profound transitions a woman can move through. This program holds that transition with the care it deserves: somatically, relationally, and at your own pace.
You're "on" all the time and exhausted. Your nervous system is on alert, so you can't switch off, even when you finally get a chance to rest.
You feel like a stranger. Your body has changed, it's tired, and you don't trust it yet. Nobody has shown you how to reconnect with it gently.
You've lost track of who you are beyond being a mother. You love your baby, and you also miss yourself, your rhythm and your sense of direction. You may feel guilty for missing that.
What is included?
-
Gentle, restorative practice for a body that's been through birth, with the aim of recovering the strength you've lost throughout the process. Breathwork and yoga practices focus on restoring that strength.
-
Nourishment, rituals and rhythm to support deep recovery
-
Exploring who you're becoming. Not just who you were before, and reflect on the new roles of the people around you and how to navigate these transitions
-
Tailored to where you are: weeks postpartum or well into the first year. Tools for the depletion, sleep deprivation and emotional volatility of new motherhood
